Steam Turbines find application in co-generation of
power (electricity) as well as for meeting the demands of driving process
equipment like fibrizor, cane crusher mill, cutters and others. In event of
co-generation of power, turbine in turn drives alternator (generator). With
basic input steam generally supplied by boiler, turbines can be offered
industry specific to suit customer needs. These steam turbines are used in
different industry sectors like paper, sugar, steel, chemical, nuclear and
others and based on operational designs, these can be supplied in form of
back pressure turbines, condensing turbines and single / multistage
turbines. Further, our expertise lies in supplying multistage turbines up to
10 MW power capacity and single stage turbines up to 2 MW power capacity.
Multistage turbines
Multistage turbines are back pressure turbines that can be
made available in form of single stage or multi-stage options. These
turbines find application for drive application/power generation
applications and are of straight-back pressure type. Finding application in
areas where back pressure steam is fully utilized, the power generation is
incidental to process steam demands.
Features :
- Back pressure turbines can also be provided with bleed
points/uncontrolled extractions for meeting steam demands at
intermediate pressures
- This provision is also applicable where bleed/medium pressure steam
volume demand is low as well as pressure variations can be tolerated
- Turbines are made available of bleed cum back pressure type
- With back pressure turbine with single controlled extraction point
option possible, this extraction steam finds use in meeting process
steam demands at intermediate pressure, especially in areas where volume
demand is high as well as pressure variations cannot be tolerated
Applications :
- These turbines are used in power generation applications
Single Stage Turbines
Single Stage Turbines find application in process
industries and are designed to provide customers with economical as well as
reliable mechanical drives for fans, compressors, water and oil pumps and
generators. These single stage turbines provide working as economical &
reliable machines that find use for smaller power capacities of generally up
to 2 MW.
Features :
- Can be made available in different frame sizes as well as design
horizontal (axial & radial split) and vertical options as per
requirement of clients
- These design features include metallic/carbon seals, overhung &
bearings wheel designs, electronic/hydraulic/mechanical governors
- These also feature direct driven/with integral gear boxes and
mechanical/electronic safety trip system with suitable lubrication
system
- System designed for achieving higher efficiencies as well as
operating conditions
- Axial split casing provides for easier inspection as well as
servicing of rotor and wear parts
Applications :
Typical applications of single stage turbines include:
- Water pumps
- Process pumps
- BFW pumps
- Oil pumps
- Fans
- Compressors
- Generator drives
Back Pressure Turbines
Back Pressure Turbines can be made available in single
stage/multi-stage options and can be used for drive application/power
generation applications. Being of straight-back pressure type, these
turbines find suitability in areas where back pressure steam is fully
utilized for meeting involved process demands with power generation
incidental to process steam demand.
Features :
- Back pressure turbine can be provided with bleed points/uncontrolled
extractions for satisfying steam demands at intermediate pressures
- These systems are applicable where bleed/medium pressure steam volume
demand is low as well as in areas where pressure variations can be
tolerated
- Turbines can be made available in bleed/back pressure type options
- Back pressure turbine comes with one controlled extraction point
where the extraction steam finds use in meeting process steam demands at
intermediate pressure especially where volume demand is high as well as
pressure variations cannot be tolerated
- Turbines are of extraction cum back pressure type
Applications :
Used for -
- Drive applications
- Power generation applications
Condensing Turbines
Condensing Turbines makes use of high pressure steam that
is expanded in turbine nozzles and blades. Further, these can exhaust it to
condenser at lower than atmospheric pressures and find main usage in areas
when power needs to be generated with minimum steam consumption.
Features :
- Condensing turbines feature bleed points/uncontrolled extractions for
satisfying steam demands at medium intermediate pressures
- System applicable where bleed/medium pressure steam volume demand is
low as well as pressure variations can be tolerated
- Turbines are of bleed cum condensing type
Applications :
Turbines find application for -
- Power generation in areas where bleed steam is needed for feed water
heating (LP heater, HP heater, and de-aerator requirement)
- Where bleed steam is used for meeting small process demands
